The Challenge
The Government of India faced the complex challenge of driving widespread awareness and practical understanding of GST across a highly diverse national population. The core obstacle was to transform a technical fiscal policy into a concept that was informative yet engaging, and trustworthy yet relatable, ensuring the message could penetrate every household regardless of socio-economic barriers.
The Solution
To humanize the policy and build instant credibility, a high-visibility campaign was conceptualized and directed featuring Anupam Kher as the central messenger. The strategy focused on crafting a simple narrative that illustrated GST benefits within the context of everyday life, supported by high-quality production values and a multi-platform rollout. By utilizing clear call-to-action messaging and relatable scenarios involving "real people," the campaign successfully translated complex tax reforms into a story of national progress and household happiness.
The Results
The campaign achieved massive scale and significant behavioral impact, reaching over 50 million people across India and generating more than 100 million impressions across various digital and traditional platforms. Beyond the numbers, the project resulted in a high level of public awareness and understanding, fostering a strong positive sentiment and successfully strengthening trust in large-scale government initiatives.
